FIU GIS Day 2026

National GIS Day · GIS: Powering Purpose and Innovation

Research and Geo Data in the Age of AI

A one-day workshop on agent-enabled smart data pipelines

When and where
Nov. 18, 2026
9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
CASE 241, John C. Comfort Collabrium, and the second-floor hallway

Modesto A. Maidique Campus
Computing, Arts, Sciences & Education
11200 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33199

For faculty, students, research staff, partners, and the FIU GIS Faculty Advisory Committee.

The morning session highlights the Institute of Environment, its Coastal Environment Data and Geographic Information System Center (CED-GIS), and EnviStor. Live demonstrations follow on compound flooding, sea-level rise, and real-time air and water sensors. The afternoon is a hands-on tutorial block. Faculty and graduate-student posters stay up through coffee and lunch, with short talks and questions in the hallway. Please RSVP to gisrs@fiu.edu. Say that you are coming, and whether you will stay for the hands-on tutorials, so we can plan coffee, food, and the lab.
