Overview
The Applied Geographic Information Systems undergraduate certificate prepares students to use GIS skills, data collection, and data analysis. The program emphasizes practical qualitative and quantitative methods — for graduate or professional school, and for jobs that use statistics, surveys, GIS, and related research methods.
Open to degree-seeking undergraduates only.
Admission
- Applicants must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at FIU.
- Some courses have prerequisites. Satisfy those requirements or get permission from the instructor.

- Email the program director, Dr. Genevieve Reid (greid@fiu.edu), to schedule a brief introduction and start registration.
- Applications are considered for Fall and Spring only (no Summer applications).
