Karibu! The Serengeti-Lake Victoria (SELVA) Sustainable Water Initiative for the Mara River is a collaborative project focused on collecting water-related social and ecological data on the lower Mara River Basin, Tanzania. The initiative is funded by support from the MacArthur Foundation and administered through Florida International University in partnership with multiple institutions in Tanzania. We invite you to explore our resources, including the Mara River Database, Mara River Basin spatial database, links to basin stakeholders, live feeds from our weather and hydro-monitoring stations (coming soon), and news about the Mara River and SELVA's activities in Tanzania.
